Want to try out motion capture, and see yourself in a small role in our game

The Project

This summer, Megaverse is hosting a two-part live interactive narrative game that will empower audiences to make collective decisions in the fight against climate change.

We are seeking networked individuals at the heart of your communities to take on small pre-recorded roles in our show. This is your chance to use your voice to support climate research in a fun, unique motion caption opportunity!

Game Changers is a multiplatform collaboration between climate researchers and educators, games experts and enthusiasts, and immersive theatre creatives and communicators, live streamed to audiences who can be part of the action, voting in polls to change the direction of the story, and using chat to provoke conversation.

Funded by UK Research & Innovation, this action research pilot explores how gaming and non-gaming audiences can galvanise and act towards positive change to tackle the climate crisis.

Each chapter will introduce new challenges and character dynamics which gamers must come together to help resolve, with the audience having complete agency to shape narrative outcomes, engaging with our motion-captured actors and AI-bot ECO in real time.

Please note: Due to budget limitations, we only have specifically sized motion capture suits – sadly we can only accept applications from standard M and L sized feminine and masculine bodies. Get in touch if you’re not sure if that’s you.

What You'll Get:‍

A half day experience at PROTO, a studio in Gateshead, trying out motion capture and acting out a role as a member of our fictional local town, GreenView
A chance to learn from our experienced technical team of developers, artists, creatives and technologists
£130 fee

You to learn a very short script (approximately 2-3 sentences)
You to attend PROTO, Gateshead for 3-4 hours (between 10am - 5pm) on Wednesday, 19th July 2023
Your feedback on the show so far
You to share your experience with your community afterwards (in whatever format you like)
